Attended the Summerville NaNoWriMo 2011 “Write-In” this afternoon at Atlanta Bread Company. The gathering included about 15 or 16 writers, each attempting to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Each person was at a different place in the overall word count, but each was dedicated to completing the task. Jokes about “any word will do; who cares about quality” were rampant. A fun afternoon with people considerably younger than myself. To that I say, “Who cares about age?”
I concluded the afternoon with a grand total of 12,794 words. I finished Chapter Seven: Whiskey Sour. I can’t say anything about the quality of this chapter as I was writing furiously while being a real Chatty Cathy, having had so little sleep – again! – last night.
