Statue of Liberty – a poem by Carley Eason Evans

Statue of Liberty

Isn’t She beautiful? The Woman standing in
The harbor, torch lifted high. Doesn’t
Her face offer you a way in

To a freedom once only imagined?
She wears her crown but never
Acts as high or mighty. She is
Your mother-sister-friend. Her name

Is America.
