Once more into the ‘edit’

Thursday evening – that’s when it was still September – I break down and begin to re-read ANNIE DREAMING. Presently I am well into it at page 31 or so.

I make minor changes here and there, usually a change of word choice or phrase order in a sentence. You know, to see if a different word works better or if changing the phrase order makes for a better sentence or a better paragraph. I usually can’t tell whether the latter change enhances or harms. Likely the phrase order change is a matter of taste and has no real effect on the novel.

One chapter I start and skip. Not a good sign. Pencil in hand, I come back to that chapter now.

ANNIE DREAMING is on the surgery table.

Proof Arrives

ANNIE DREAMING was on my front stoop this evening when I arrived home from work. I was pretty sure it’d be waiting for me, but when I opened it I was still quite thrilled.

It looks great. The formatting appears to be correct, and so far in the final (I hope!) read-through, I’ve found no obvious errors or glitches.

I expect to approve it soon.

Then I will post the link to my e-Store and of course you will be able to find it on Amazon.com.

Thank you one and all for your support. I especially thank Jeff (and others) for reading METAL MAN WALKING and writing a review.

Read-Through

Spent yesterday and this evening reading through ANNIE’S DREAM. I’m amazed at how many changes I made over the last 36 hours or so. Almost every page has pencil marks or new sentences scribbled here and there.

I’m too exhausted from lack of sleep and tired eyes to complete the re-write on my computer right now. That task is left for tomorrow and Sunday.

ANNIE’S DREAM Proofing

Unable to sleep last night, I sat up in bed to read ANNIE’S DREAM through again with my pen in hand. I wrote several new sentences, corrected words I didn’t care for, added a paragraph here and there.

My novel, companion to METAL MAN WALKING, is close to birthing.

Get ready!

PROOF of ANNIE’S DREAM

I just ordered a proof of ANNIE’S DREAM for review. I’m going to sit down with a hard (paperback) copy of my baby with my red pencil in hand, glass of red wine in the other, and I’m going to read, read, read and change, change, change and maybe add some more content, etc.

I’m so excited to see my baby in print.
